Definition
Defines a reinforcement applied to the surface of a concrete structure. The reinforcement can be a metal or carbon cable sealed to the concrete surface. The reinforcement is activated by post-tensioning prestressing. Cable prestressed reinforcement is generally unbonded (force anchoring is done at each end). Pultruded carbon strip reinforcement is generally bonded over its entire length to the concrete surface.
