Definition
Defines the percentage of undulation of a fiber composing a fabric. Any yarn composing a fabric is longer than the fabric it composes. In textiles, as for carbon fiber fabrics, the crimp depends on the weave ratio of the fabric. Regarding carbon fiber reinforced composites, the higher the crimp, the lower the average elastic modulus of the composite. The elastic modulus of bidirectional carbon fiber fabric reinforcement and infused strips are impacted by this problem.
